ABOUT US

We wanted to help revitalize the Blackfoot downtown area, and to enhance the experience of the visitors to the Potato Museum.  Old town Blackfoot will never be what it used to be, but it can be a very special place as we reinvent ourselves.

In the summer of 2018 this historic building was placed for sale.  We saw that it could play a very important part as an anchor building right across from the Potato Museum.  I had previously approached the owners suggesting they change their business model to attract those in the local area and tourists to the downtown area.

Seeing that this opportunity was available, I took my own advice and suggested to my wife that we purchase the building and restore it to its previous grandeur.   We started visiting Candy Stores and performing due diligence in developing a business plan.

In January 2019 we secured the purchase of the building and immediately started demolition that very day.  Renovation was extensive and took from January to October 1st to complete.

On October 1, 2019 we opened our store thinking that we could do a “soft opening” to become comfortable with our Point of Sale program and operation of the store.  Our “soft opening” turned out not so “soft” due to the avalanche of customers visiting our little store.  We are so grateful for the community support which has seen us through this new endeavor and the challenges of 2020, which enabled us to keep our doors open.
